Welcome to Neath Port Talbot - one of the most varied and exciting parts of South Wales. We are delighted that you are interested in joining us as we strive to make Neath Port Talbot a great place to live, work and invest.

Our rich cultural and industrial heritage together with our beautiful natural environment are not only sources of pride, they influence and inspire our vision. Central to this vision is a strategy for economic growth by pursuing new and existing opportunities in order to sustain our diverse communities and provide firm foundations for future generations.

In common with many local authorities in Wales and the wider UK, we face significant challenges at this time. These include; increasing demand on services with reducing resources, deprivation and poverty, and uncertainties relating to ‘Brexit’. The longer term impact of the coronavirus pandemic is also likely to be deep and enduring.

This person will play a central role in the Council’s Recovery Strategy adopting a strategic overview on how we can make the most of our resources through effective financial management and capitalising on the potential of Digital, Data and Technology in shaping a modern, efficient and customer-centric organisation.

We need a senior professional leader of the very highest calibre: someone who can anticipate and drive change, and who will work well with others to build consensus and momentum. As part of our Corporate Directors’ Group you will model the values, behaviours and systems that will enable the Council to reach its potential.

This is an exceptional opportunity to be part of something very special. I look forward to receiving your application.
